November 2021 Campaign Update

We hope this email finds you happy, healthy, and looking forward to a more “normal” Holiday season.  The union campaign at Toyota continues to grow and exciting developments are on the horizon.

2020 has been a very challenging year for Toyota Team Members and Unifor Organizers alike.  Our lives have been changed by the pandemic and public health restrictions, making it harder to stay in touch and to organize. 

Getting back to in-person meetings and face-to-face conversations with Team Members is so important for this campaign and things seem to be headed in that direction.

Throughout the pandemic, Unifor Organizers and Team Members kept the campaign running.  We developed an electronic union membership card recognized by the Ontario Labour Relations Board, we’ve also stayed in touch with TMs through regular email campaigns, connected with you via phone calls and text messages, organized Zoom meetings and online townhalls, held socially-distanced curbside Information leaflet drops, and even knocked on TM’s doors when restrictions have allowed it.  

Despite extremely difficult circumstances, thousands of cards have been signed so far and thanks to the support of Team Members like you, the campaign has a solid foundation to take things to the next level.

Hundreds of Team Members are now directly involved and actively supporting the campaign. Your fellow Team Members are ready to talk and help connect you with Unifor Organizers to answer any questions and help you find out more about your rights.

Everyone has a role to play in this union drive no matter how small. Everything from talking with Team Members on the assembly line to helping distribute fact sheets helps contribute to a more informed and engaged workplace.

Union organizers are here to help but we can’t do it alone. There’s an important role in this union drive for you. Just reach out to Unifor’s Organizing Team at the coordinates below.
